HIV mutates which can lead to HIV subtype specific differences, drug resistance and challenges for molecular reservoir assays. Clonal expansion in the reservoir could be influenced by the ART regimens used. Our studies include in-depth viral characterization and to relate findings to reservoir development and curative strategies.
