HIV Biobank

We have obtained permission from the Ethical Committee to create an HIV Biobank (MEC-2022-060). This is a collection for longtime storage samples that have been obtained in the past. The collections includes unique samples from HIV-2 infected people, with progressive and non-progressive infection. Samples from HIV-1 and HIV-2 date back to the 90’s, before cART was introduced.

Another set of samples is from the DCTRN clinical trial for immunotherapy in HIV-infected persons. This trial was done in Rotterdam and Brussels and blood samples from the trial are still cryopreserved and available for new research questions.
